Sabra + Scott’s Plymouth Photo Session

I’m so excited to photograph Sabra and Scott’s wedding this coming September! Very fun couple and super easy to photograph. We headed out to downtown Plymouth yesterday and got a few great shots ->

Erika and Francisco’s Wedding Photos Preview!

Both the ceremony and reception were held at Fox Hills in Plymouth, Michigan in the “Fox Classic” room. Erika and Francisco were cool with seeing each other before the start of the ceremony, so I got to do a “first look”. The bridesmaids and groomsmen helped to set it up and keep the two of them separate until everything was ready for them.

After that, we did a few photos inside Fox Hills and then Erika and Francisco braved the chilly November temperatures to grab a few outside on the golf course.

Recessional Photos a/k/a the “exit shot” are always one of my favorite shots of the day:

DJ Emmitt rocked the party!

For those that have arrived to this blog through platinummix.com, you know that we do lots of fun stuff with videography. Ever since last year’s upgrade to the Canon 5dmII and Canon 7d camera’s, I’ve been experimenting with lots of different ways to incorporate video footage into all of our clients wedding imagery. Making it affordable has been important to me since frankly, video seems to be the first thing that gets cut from wedding budgets but IMHO, done well, its really a cool thing to have. Since Erika and Francisco were so cool and laidback, I thought it would be cool to experiment with capturing tiny chunks of video while simultaneously capturing stills. What follows here is my first attempt at mixing the two mediums together in a video presentation that features lots of stills, sprinkled with a bit of video –>

Special thanks to Lauren Walton who came along as a second shooter. Having somebody else with me, really helps to free me up to try new things and get a bit more creative. Lauren did a great job! :)

Congrats Erika and Francisco!!
